The Owings Music Hall was formed by a few dedicated music lovers in an effort to keep the heritage of Bluegrass and American roots music alive.
The Owings Music Hall is located in Owings, South Carolina about 20 miles south of Greenville just off of I-385 at exit 19 in downtown Owings beside the historic Owings museum.
Each Saturday night, the Owings Music Hall is open, barring bad weather, to music lovers and musicians. The house seats about 40 persons, and is based on a first come first serve basis. The live music usually starts around 7.00 p.m. and runs until most of the musicians are too tired to perform.
Performers at the Owings Music Hall range from folks just getting started to some very well established musicians. To insure that everyone gets a chance to share their music, even beginner musicians are encouraged to perform on stage.
The Owings Music Hall is a very friendly and family-oriented environment. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed anywhere on the property, and smoking is not allowed inside the music hall. Foul language is also not allowed.
The Owings Music Hall is made possible by the generous support of the Owings Historical Society, donations made from patrons and the hard work of a small army of volunteers.
